- Ampyra increases your risk of having a seizure, especially if you have kidney problems or impairment, or have had seizures before. Stop using Ampyra if you have a seizure and contact your doctor immediately.
- Using Ampyra may cause kidney or bladder infections.

- Ampyra may cause urinary tract infections. Signs of a urinary tract infection are painful or burning urination, needing to urinate often, and cloudy or foul smelling urine.
- You may also experience insomnia, headaches, dizziness, weakness, and trouble balancing.
- Physical side effects include black pain, nose and throat irritation, and tingling, burning, or itchy skin.
- Nausea, constipation, and indigestion are also common.
- Ampyra may cause a relapse or increase the severity of symptoms of multiple sclerosis.
