Cenestin Treatment and Use
Cenestin | Synthetic Conjugated Estrogens come in tablets and is used as a treatment for patients with experiencing symptoms of menopause. These symptoms include hot flashes, and dryness, irritation, or burning sensation of the vagina. It is also sometimes used to prevent osteoporosis and to increase the amount of estrogen in those who have impaired estrogen production. In certain men and women, Cenestin can be used to treat prostate cancer and breast cancer.
How does Cenestin work?
The symptoms of menopause are caused be the body’s decreased estrogen production. Cenestin contains a mixture of nine different synthetic estrogens that can fulfill the work of the lacking estrogen in the body, fighting the effects of reduced estrogen production.
Cenestin Dosage Information
A patient’s Cenestin dosage is dependent on the condition to be treated and is adjusted based on response to the treatment. Your doctor may prescribe Cenestin to you in a cyclic dosage, during which you will take Cenestin for three weeks, then go without a dose for one week.
Typically, Cenestin is taken once daily. Take Cenestin before or after a meal to prevent your stomach from becoming upset. You may also have to increase your calcium and vitamin D intake while taking Cenestin. Discuss consuming grapefruit or grapefruit products with your doctor.
During your treatment, your doctor may require you to have regular visits and medical testing done to monitor your condition for any adverse developments.
