Duac Care System and Pregnancy

Duac Care System is listed as an FDA pregnancy Category C medication. Duac Care System's effect on the fetus when taking by a pregnant woman is unknown. General Warnings

enteritis (swelling of the intestines)
ulcerative colitis
severe diarrhea induced by antibiotics

Duac Care System may make your skin more sensitive to sun and you may burn more easily. To prevent harm to the skin, avoid using tanning beds or being exposed to sunlight. Do not use sunscreen that contains para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) while you are treating your acne with Duac Care System. When combined, these medications may cause discoloration of the skin.

How to Use Duac Care System

Use Duac Care System only as recommended by your doctor. Do not use more than prescribed or for longer than instructed. Duac Care System comes in the form of a topical gel. To use Duac Care System:

wash hands thoroughly
rinse and clean your face using a mild cleanser. Do not use soap, this may leave residue on the skin.
with a towel, gently pat the skin until dry
apply to the skin twice a day (or as prescribed)
do not apply around the eyes, mouth or in the nose; do not use Duac Care System on skin that is broken, burned or peeling, excessively dried or irritated
continue use until your treatment prescription cycle has ended

Duac Care System may take many weeks to reduce your acne. Do not stop using Duac Care System unless your doctor has instructed you to do so.

Avoid contact of Duac Care System and hair or fabrics, this medicine may bleach these items.
