- Seek emergency medical attention if you develop hives, shortness of breath, or swelling in the face, lips, tongue or throat. These may be indications of a serious allergic reaction to Edarbi.

- Before taking Edarbi, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. If you become pregnant while on Edarbi, stop taking this medication and call your doctor immediately. Edarbi may cause fetal mortality or serious birth defects when taken in the last six months of pregnancy.
General Warnings About Edarbi
- Before you take Edarbi, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, an electrolyte imbalance (caused by deficient levels of magnesium and potassium in your blood) or congestive heart failure.
- Do not consume alcohol beverages while taking Edarbi. Alcohol lowers your blood pressure and may raise the potency of this medication.
Edarbi Treatment and Use
Edarbi | Azilsartan medoxomil is an angiotensin receptor blocker that treats hypertension (high blood pressure). It may be used alone or taken with other blood pressure medications. It is marketed by Takeda and was approved for use by the FDA in 2011.
How does Edarbi work?
Edarbi works by preventing the body’s blood vessels from narrowing. This improves blood flow and reduces blood pressure.
Dosage
Edarbi is available in 40 and 80 milligram tablets. The usual dosage is 80 milligrams, once per day. Your doctor may advise you to take only 40 milligrams per day if you are also taking high doses of diuretics (drugs that expel excess salt and water from the body through urine). It is important for you to keep taking Edarbi even if you feel well.
