Glucovance is a combination of the drugs glyburide and metformin, used to treat type 2 diabetes. Metformin is a biguanide drug also used to treat type 2 diabetes, particularly in overweight patients with normally functioning kidneys. Met formin has also been shown to prevent heart problems associated with diabetes.
