Adoxa Treatment and Use
Adoxa| doxycycline is a tetracycline antibiotic used to treat a number of bacterial infections including skin infections, acne or rosacea, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, lyme disease, and inhaled anthrax. It is also used to treat malaria. Adoxa was marketed as an acne medication by Doak Dermatologics, but doxycycline is a commonly prescribed antibiotic and is widely manufactured.
How does Adoxa work?
Adoxa interferes with the growth and inhibits the spread of bacteria in the body by preventing the creation of protein that the bacteria needs to survive.
Dosage
Adoxa comes in 50 mg, 75 mg, 100 mg, and 150 mg tablet, capsule, and injection forms. The initial dosage of Adoxa is 200 mg divided into two doses for the first day. Afterwards, the daily dose is lowered to 100 mg once a day or 50 mg twice a day. Adoxa should be taken on an empty stomach.
