Overdose symptoms:

Warnings & Recalls for Aliskiren
Black Box Warning
The FDA has administered a Black Box Warning for Aliskiren due to the severe fetal harm it may cause in pregnant patients. Do not take Aliskiren if you are pregnant. If you become pregnant while taking aliskiren, call your doctor immediately. Aliskiren may harm the fetus. Aliskiren is a drug that acts directly on the renin-angiotensin system, which can cause fetal and neonatal morbidity and death when administered to pregnant women.
Other warnings
Patients with diabetes should not use Aliskiren.
Eating high-fat foods should be avoided when taking Aliskiren.
Those with a history of diabetes, seizures, heart problems, or kidney disease should not take Aliskiren.
Interactions
Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, Atorvastatin, itraconazole, aspirin or other NSAIDs, cyclosporine, celecoxib, diuretics, heart disease medications, other high blood pressure medications, potassium affecting drugs, angiotensin receptor blocker, furosemide, fatty foods, irbesartan, ketoconazole, and thiazide diuretics.
Warning for family planning:
Category C (first trimester); Category D (second and third trimesters).The FDA has assigned Aliskiren to pregnacy category C for the first trimester and pregnancy category D for the second and third trimesters.
Animal testing revealed that fetal birth weight was affected after daily doses of 50 mg/kg/day which is about 3.2 times the maximum recommended dosage for humans. Drugs that act directly on the renin-angiotensin system can cause fetal and neonatal morbidity and death when administered to pregnant women.

How it works
The drug works by decreasing certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so the blood vessels relax and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.
Dosage information
Aliskiren comes in a tablet form that is ingested by the mouth taken once a day. Aliskiren should be taken either always with food or always without food and always around the same time of the day. Do not take more than the prescribed dosage.
Tablets come in 150 mg and 300 mg dosages.
