Family planning
Dolasetron Melyslate is categorized as pregnancy Category B. Studies so far haven't revealed evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus, therefore this drug should only be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
General Warnings
Caution should be used when administering Dolasetron mesylate in patients with the following situations or conditions:
- hypokalemia or hypomagnesemia
- patients taking diuretics that can cause electrolyte abnormalities
- patients with congenital QT syndrome
- patients taking anti-arrhythmic drugs or other drugs which lead to QT prolongation, and cumulative high dose anthracycline therapy

How does Dolasetron mesylate work?
Dolasetron mesylate works by blocking the 5-HT3 receptor, the receptor responsible for nausea and vomiting in the central nervous system.
Dolasetron mesylate dosage
Dolasetron mesylate, come in tablet form or as an injection. The recommended dose for children over 2 years of age up to adults is a single 1.8 mg/kg dose 30 minutes before chemotherapy or a fixed dose of 100 mg over 30 seconds.
