How to Use Dovonex
Dovonex is prescribed as a topical ointment for patients to apply to the skin, or liquid form for plaque psoriasis of the scalp. It is typically recommended that Dovonex be applied to the affected areas twice daily at about the same time each day. Dovonex should not be applied to the facial area. Follow the labeled directions exactly as stated. Before applying Dovonex, wash your hands and the area to which you will be applying the medicine to prevent any interactions.
For using Dovonex cream, apply a small amount of cream to the area and massage the cream into the skin. If you are using Dovonex liquid for the scalp, make parts in your hair. Apply the liquid to the lesions and massage the scalp until the liquid is absorbed. Dovonex should not be applied to open, irritated or broken skin.
Wash hands thoroughly after using Dovonex unless you are using Dovonex to treat psoriasis on your hands. If Dovonex comes in contact with the eyes, mouth, or vagina, wash the medicine out with water immediately.
Dovonex may increase sensitivity to sunlight; wear protective clothing when outside and avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
