Duraclon Treatment and Use
Duraclon | clonidine hydrocholride is used together with a narcotic pain medication to treat severe pain in patients with cancer. Especially pain that burns, feels sharp, or shoots through parts of the body. It should not be used to treat pain related to childbirth, the time after childbirth, or pain related to surgery because it may dangerously lower the patient’s blood pressure.
How does Duraclon work?
Duraclon is a type of medication called an alpha-agonist analgesic. It works by blocking pain signals from the spinal cord to the brain, decreasing the amount of pain felt by the patient.
Duraclon Dosage Information
Duraclon is given continuously via injection to the spinal column by a medical professional. Dosage can vary, and your doctor will determine the proper dosage based on your condition and may adjust your dosage based on your reactions. Your doctor may require medical testing to monitor your reactions to the medication.
Your doctor may allow you to use Duraclon at home. Carefully follow your doctor’s instructions on how to use it. Do not reuse needles or syringes and dispose of them properly.
Do not stop taking Duraclon suddenly, you may experience symptoms of withdrawal. To properly stop a Duraclon treatment, your doctor will lower your doses gradually. If you miss a dose, talk to your doctor as soon as possible.
