deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and
retinal vein thrombosis.Do not take this drug if you are pre-menopausal.Special caution should be used if you take a highly protein-bound drug such as diazepam, diazoxide, or lidocaine.
Evista Treatment and Use
Evista | raloxifene for osteoporosis is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), a compound that acts in the same way that estrogen does in certain body tissues. It is marketed by the drug company Eli Lilly & Company. The FDA has approved the use of Evista for the treatment of osteoporosis in post menopausal woman as well as to help prevent breast cancer for post menopausal women who are at increased risk of developing the condition.
Evista comes as a 60 mg tablet that is to be taken once a day with or without food. Though Evista | raloxifene itself is used for the treatment of osteoporosis, supplementation with calcium and vitamin D should be added if your daily intake is deemed inadequate by your physician.
