Fen-Phen Treatment and Use
Fen-phen | fenfluramine/phentermine was a drug combination that was used as an anti-obesity treatment which utilized two anorectics. Fenfluramine was originally marketed by what is now Wyeth as Pondimin, but it was proven that it caused often fatal pulmonary hypertension and heart valve problems. Phentermine didn’t prove to have any significant side effects, however with the combination of these two drugs, it was deemed harmful to the general public.
