Imitrex | Sumatriptan has been shown to cause side effects such as

- warm, redness, or tingling under the skin
- unusual taste in mouth (nasal spray)

Imitrex should not be used by patients with a history of any of the following conditions:
Consult your doctor before taking Imitrex if you suffer from any of the following diseases:
- liver disease
- kidney disease
- epilepsy or seizure disorder
- high blood pressure
- heart rhythm disorder
- coronary heart disease
Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a doctor before taking this medication, as it is unknown whether this medication can cause harm to an unborn child.
Imitrex Treatment and Use
Imitrex | Sumatriptan is a selective serotonin receptor agonist manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline as an oral tablet and intranasal solution. Imitrex not only blocks pain signals from being interpreted by the brain, but also constricts blood vessels in the head to relieve the symptoms of migraines.
Imitrex | Sumatriptan has been approved for the treatment of migraines and common tension headaches, and is used to treat such symptoms as:
- sensitivity to light or sound
- nausea
- vomiting
Imitrex should not be used for the prevention of future migraines, or to decrease the frequency of headaches a patient experiences.
