Jolessa Treatment and Use
What is Jolessa?
Jolessa | Levonorgestrel is a birth control pill used for pregnancy prevention. Some patients who have used Jolessa have experienced noncontraceptive health benefits as well.
How does it work?
The drug prevents ovulation by making the mucus in the cervix thicker and changing the lining of the uterus.
How to take it?
Jolessa should be used as directed by a doctor. Patients should check the medicine label for exact instructions. The drug is taken orally. Patients should take the medicine with food if their stomach becomes upset.
Jolessa should be taken the first Sunday following a patient’s period. The pill should be taken consistently at the same time every day. The first pill from a new pack should be taken the next day after taking the last pill from a previous pack.
Patients should not skip doses in order for the drug to be effective. If 1dose if missed, then patients need to take the medicine as soon as they remember and continue to take their next dose at the same regular time.
