Letairis Side Effects
Serious side effects:
- pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest
- anxiety, uneven heart rate, sweating, wheezing, coughing with foamy mucus, severe shortness of breath, gasping for breath, or chest pain
- loss of appetite, clay-colored stools, nausea, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), itching, dark urine
- swelling of legs, feet or ankles.
Severe allergic reaction symptoms:- hives
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat
- hives
Common side effects:
- stuffy nose, sinus pain, sore throat
- headache
- stomach pain, vomiting, constipation
- warmth, redness, or tingly feeling under the skin.

This is a drug that isn't recommended for children or women who are pregnant. You should also not use Letairis if you are allergic to ambrisentan.

The FDA categorizes Letairis as a category X pregnancy. It can harm an unborn baby or likely cause birth defects. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant during treatment. If you're a woman with childbearing potential you have to have a negative pregnancy test before starting treatment and be re-tested each month during treatment, or for at least 1 month after treatment ends.

What is Letairis?
Letairis is a drug that is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It also helps improve your ability to exercise and is only available under a special program called LEAP (Letairis Education and Access Program). First you must register into the program and sign agreements to use birth control and undergo blood and pregnancy testing, which is required. Be sure to read all program brochures and agreements carefully.
How does Letairis work?
Letairis prevents thickening of blood vessels, especially those located in the lungs and the heart. Also lowers blood pressure in your lungs, which helps your heart pump blood more efficiently.
Dosage information
Swallow the pill whole which will initially be 5 mg once a day at the same time each day and may increase to 10mg once daily if tolerated. Don’t crush, chew or split the tablet. Can be taken with or without food. Do not stop taking Letairis without first talking with your doctor
