How This Drug Works
Levothyroxine is known as a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone. The thyroid hormones T3 (Liothyronine) and T4 (Levothyroxine), are thought to function by the binding to receptor proteins of thyroid attached to a patient’s DNA, thereby activating gene transcription and also protein synthesis.
