Miacalcin Treatment and Use
Miacalcin | Calcitonin Salmon Nasal Spray is a medication for osteoporosis in post-menopausal women who can’t take estrogen products. Calcitonin is a hormone that humans have, and can also be found in salmon.
How it Works:
Calcitonin prevents bones from breaking down as easily, by increasing the thickness of the bones. It comes in spray form, to be taken nasally, usually once a day. It is advised to alternate which nostril you use each day. Calcitonin helps to treat osteoporosis, but cannot cure it, unfortunately.
