NovoSeven RT Treatment and Use
NovoSeven RT | coagulation factor VIIa is a synthetic protein that acts in much the same way as thrombin, a blood that is responsible for helping blood clot during an injury. This drug is indicated for the treatment of bleeding episodes associated with the blood disorder hemophilia as well as to prevent mass bleeds in surgical procedures on persons with hemophilia.
How does NovoSeven RT work?
When it enters the bloodstream, NovoSeven RT targets sites of injury. It then binds to activated platelets and aids in the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin. The creation of thrombin in turn leads to the formation of fibrin which acts as a foundation to stable blood clots. These clots help to stem uncontrollable bleeds in people who have hemophilia.

NovoSeven RT is administered as an intravenous bolus injection. This drug should only be administered under doctor supervision in a clinical or hospital setting.
