Perjeta Treatment and Use
What Is Perjeta?
Perjeta | Pertuzumab is an FDA approved medication used in conjunction with chemotherapy to slow or stop the spread of breast cancer tumors. There is no evidence that Perjeta, when used with trastuzumab and docetaxel, will increase likeliness of survival, currently.
Perjeta | Pertuzumab is for patients who have not yet undergone chemotherapy, or other breast cancer treatments. Ask your doctor is Perjeta is right for you.
How It Works
Perjeta is supposed to work by sending signals to your cells, telling them to divide. Ultimately, along with other cancer treatments, Perjeta is supposed to slow down the spreading of cancer cells and tumors, by creating anti-tumor activity. When combined with chemotherapy, the percentage of time that patients lived without cancer was increased.
Dosing Information
Perjeta is administered through an IV. Consult your doctor about what dosing is right for you.
