Taclonex Treatment and Use
Taclonex | Betamethasone and Calcipotriene is a medication used to treat symptoms of psoriasis vulgaris or plaque psoriasis in adults. It combines two common psoriasis treatments into one medication. Taclonex helps reduce itching, inflamation, and redness of the skin affected by psoriasis. This helps the skin become more healthy and decreases the risk of infection. Some patients see improvement within the first week of treatment. It has not been adequately tested in patients under 18 years old.
How does Taclonex Work?
The Betamethasone in Taclonex is a corticosteroid. It helps decrease the itching and swelling symptoms of psoriasis. Calcipoterine is a type of vitamin D that inhibits the growth of skin cells, preventing thickening of the skin.
Taclonex Dosage Information
Do not exceed the dosage or length of Taclonex treatment that your doctor prescribes for you. Apply Taclonex to the area that needs treatment once daily for up to four weeks. Your doctor may require blood or urine tests to monitor your condition while you use Taclonex.
Make sure your hands are clean before you use Taclonex. Shake liquid Taclonex before application and apply a thin layer to the affected area. Do not apply Taclonex on skin that is infected, wounded, broken, dry, or thin. Taclonex should not be used on your face, underarms, or groin. Do not let the product come in contact with your eyes or mouth.
