Treanda Treatment and Use
Treanda | bendamustine injection is a chemotherapy drug produced by Cephalon Inc. that is indicated in the treatment of indolent B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) as well as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). In addition to these two purposes, Treanda may be used to treat other conditions that have not been approved by the FDA.
Treanda chemotherapy has been observed to destroy the cells that cause NHL and CLL. It isn’t known exactly how Treanda treats these types of cancers. Compared to another drug called chlorambucil, Treanda had a better treatment response in patients. Treanda also was shown to extend the time patients had before a relapse of leukemia after treatment.
Treanda has with it certain side effects that you should go over with your doctor before beginning treatment. Look at the “side effects” and “warnings” tabs on this page for more information.
