Serious Side Effects of Zmax
- Taking Zmax can result in QT prolongation, which can cause in irregular heartbeat, dizziness or fainting. If you have a history of heart problems, have low potassium or magnesium levels, or are taking other drugs that effect the heart, your risk of QT prolongation is increased.
- Signs of a serious allergic reaction include rashes, itchiness, swelling of the face, tongue, and throat, difficulty breathing, and acute dizziness.
- Zmax may cause Clostridium difficile- associated diarrhea, which may not happen for weeks or months after the treatment has been taken. Symptoms include abdominal cramps, bloody stool, mucus in the stool, or constant diarrhea.
- If you experience heart arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), acute dizzies, or faint get medical attention imediately.
- You may experience inability to heair, vision problems, problems speaking or swallowing or unusual weakness after taking Zmax.
- Liver complications may also occur. Symptoms of this include unexplained tiredness, cconstant nausea or vomiting, acute abdominal pain, jaundice (yellowing of the eyes or skin), and dark urine.

- Prolonged or repeated use of Zmax may cause oral thrush or a yeast infection. If you experience white patches in the mouth or a change in vaginal discharge, talk to your doctor.
- As with many antibiotics, Zmax may cause mild diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, upset stomach, abdominal pain.
- Zmax may cause mild dizziness, headaches, tiredness, nervous feelings, trouble sleeping.
- You may experience weakened sense of taste or smell and ringing in the ears.

Zmax FDA Warning
- The FDA sent a warning to Pfizer on June 19th 2012 about their omission of serious side effects on a promotional brochure.
- The letter states that Pfizer did not mention the increased risk of QT Prolongation, which may result in cardiac complications and could be fatal.
- The brochure also did not mention the possibility of severe allergic reactions that could result in death.

- If your symptoms don't improve in a few days, contact your doctor.
- If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, you should not take Zmax
- Let your doctor know if you have a history of liver or kidney disease, low levels of potassium or magnesium in your blood, myasthenia gravis, irregular heartbeats, or Long QT syndrome.
- Zmax is affected by other antibiotics, antidepressants, anti-malaria medications, cholestorol medications, ergot medications, heart and blood medicines, heart rhythm medicines, HIV medications, nausea medications, tranquilizers, seizure medications, migraine medicines,and psychiatric medications.

Zmax Dosage Information
Open the packet of Zmax and stir the medicine into two ounces of water. Drink it immediately. To ensure you have taken your entire dose, add more water to the glass and drink to consume any remaining medication. When given to adults, Zmax should be taken all at once as a single dose at least an hour before or two hours following a meal. For adolescents, doses are administered based on the child’s weight. If you experience vomiting within an hour of taking Zmax, call your doctor about switching medications or taking another dose.
