Byetta Deaths<\/h2>\n

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that six deaths<\/strong> have occurred due to acute pancreatitis<\/strong> associated with use of Byetta. One woman from Sidney, Ohio explains that her husband passed away after being treated with the drug in 2005. “I’ll blame his death on Byetta for the rest of my life.”<\/p>\n

Her husband, Charles faced serious health issues following his transfer from insulin treatments to Byetta. Charles appetite decreased drastically. And, without making any lifestyle changes, he lost 34 lbs over the span of 6 months due to the drug. Charles and his wife had similar frustrations when his inability to control his blood sugar levels persisted while on Byetta.<\/p>\n

Eventually, the severity of his symptoms obliged Charles and his wife to consult their doctor for medical examinations. Doctors performed a gastroscopy in which they found a mass (tumor) at top portion of his pancreas<\/strong>. Healthcare professionals diagnosed Charles with pancreatic cancer<\/strong>. Because Charles did not have a family history of any sort of cancer, his wife believes that the cancer had been caused by type-2 diabetes treatment Byetta.<\/p>\n
