Bromday Treatment and Use
Bromday | Bromfenac opthalmic is the only available NSAID medication approved for the treatment of eye inflammation and pain in patients who have had cataract surgery. Bromday is manufactured by ISTA Pharmaceuticals as an eye drop solution that is prescribed as either a single bottle or a twin pack.
How does Bromday work?
Bromday is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works to manage eye discomfort by inhibiting the action of chemicals that cause the body’s inflammatory response. By interfering with these chemicals, Bromday is able to help patients manage eye inflammation and irritation that can occur after cataract surgery.
Bromday Dosing Instructions
One drop of Bromday solution should be applied to each eye once daily starting 1 day before surgery. This should be continued on the day of surgery, and should extended at least 14 days after the surgery has been completed.
Bromday may be used alone or in conjunction with other topical eye medications, such as those which contain alpha-agonist or beta-blocking components. These solutions should be administered a minimum of 5 minutes apart.
If you wear contact lenses, be sure to remove them before applying this medication, and allow the solution to be fully absorbed before contact replacement.
