- Signs of a serious allergic reaction to Akineton can include having a difficult time breathing, swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, or throat, and hives.
- If you experience hallucinations, have sudden confusion, become hyperactive, have a seizure, lose coordination, or faint get medical attention quickly.
- See a doctor if you have eye pain, pain in your chest, or heart arrhythmia (irregular heartbeats).

- Avoid heat and strenuous exercising while taking Akineton. It may decrease your ability to sweat and increase your chances of getting a heat stroke.

- Akineton can cause pupil dilation (enlarging of the pupil), blurred vision, dizziness, and drowsiness. Avoid drinking alcohol, because it may enhance these side effects. You should also avoid driving, operating machinery, and other dangerous activities.
- To avoid an upset stomach, drink doses of Akineton with a full glass of water or after a meal.
- Taking Akineton can cause constipation or difficulty urinating.
- Akineton may cause you to become nervous, have emotional agitation, or become anxious.
