How does it work?

Histrelin acetate is an artificial hormone that overstimulates the creation of certain hormones in the body. This causes the production of that hormone to temporarily shut down.

Dosage Information

Histrelin acetate is implanted under the skin on the inside of a patient’s upper arm.

• The drug should be administered on the arm the patient uses the least often.
• Patients should lay down when taking Histrelin acetate.
• The patient’s upper arm will be treated with numbing medicine.
• After a small incision is cut, the implant will be inserted using a special tool.
• The incision will then be closed with stitches.
• Patients should keep their arm dry for at least 24 hours.
