Contraindications
Inderal | Propranolol has contraindications attached to it that hinder a patient’s ability to take this drug, such as:
- Bronchial asthma
- Cardiogenic shock
- 2nd or 3rd degree heart block
- Hypersensitivity to propranolol hydrochloride
- Sick sinus syndrome
- Sinus bradycardia
Who Should Not Take This Drug
The following patients should not take
Inderal | Propranolol:
- Patients with diabetes mellitus
- Patients with hyperthyroidism
- Patients with peripheral vascular disease
- Patients with Reynaud’s syndrome
- Patients with myasthenia gravis
Inderal | Propranolol has a pregnancy category rating of C by the FDA, meaning that there’s not an inherent risk to the mother or child, however upon conception it would be best to find a way to wean off of it.

How This Drug Works
