Moexipril | Univasc is a generic angiotensin-converting enzyme or “ACE” inhibitor for treating and reducing hypertension (high blood pressure). Doctors often prescribe moexipril along with other medications to control hypertension. Patients may be advised to follow a diet and exercise regimen to increase the effectiveness of the treatment.
Moexipril should be used with caution in children and patients who are elderly.
How Does Moexipril Work?
Angiotensin-converting enzymes in the body often cause blood vessels to narrow and increase blood pressure. Moexipril works by decreasing the function of these enzymes, causing a widening of blood vessels and reduction of blood pressure.
