Pataday Treatment and Use
Pataday | Pataday is an antihistamine used as a treatment for eye irritation caused by allergic conjunctivitis. Pataday has twice the concentration of Patanol solution. Pataday is used for the relief of indoor, outdoor, and seasonal allergies, and may treat the following symptoms of eye irritation, such as redness, itchiness, or watery eyes.
How does Pataday work?
Antihistamine medications decrease the amount of natural histamine produced in the body. Histamine is released during allergic reactions and causes the common allergy symptoms in the sinuses, eyes, throat, lungs, and skin.
Pataday Dosage Information
A typical dose of Pataday is one drop per eye, once or twice a day as prescribed by your doctor.
Before using the Pataday eye drops, wash your hands with soap and water.
If you wear contact lenses, remove them before application and wait at least 10 minutes after application to reinsert them.
Apply a single drop of the solution like a regular eye drop, then close your eyes for three minutes, tipping your head downwards. Apply gently pressure to your tear duct, then wipe any excess liquid from around your eyes with a tissue. Wait until your vision is clear before driving or using machinery.
If you use more than one drop per eye, wait at least 5 minutes between applications.
