Serious Side Effects of Veramyst

• Contact your doctor immediately if you experience severe or persistent nosebleeds, nose or eye pain, painful swallowing or persistent sore throat, or white patches in your nose or back of the throat.
• If the Veramyst gets into the bloodstream, you may experience side effects of corticosteroid overdose. These symptoms include extreme tiredness, sudden weight loss  swelling of the feet, increased thirst and urination, and problems seeing.
• Serious signs of an allergic reaction include rashes, itching or swelling in the face, tongue or throat, extreme dizziness, or difficulty breathing.
• Contact your doctor if you experience noisy breathing or crusting around the nostrils.

• Veramyst may cause headaches and back pain.
• Sinus pain and minor nosebleeds, cough sore throat, and coughs are common.
• Menstrual problems, and loss of interest in sex may occur.

General Veramyst warnings

• Veramyst should only be used in the nose. Do not swallow Veramyst or have it come in contact with your eyes.
• Tell your doctor if you have tuberculosis of the lung, cataracts, glaucoma, sores in your nose, an untreated infection, or herpes of the eye.
• Veramyst and other steroids may increase blood sugar. If you are diabetic, you may have to adjust the dosage of your diabetes medication
• Inform your doctor if you have had recent injury or surgery to your nose
• Veramyst may decrease the body's ability to ward off infections. Stay away from sick people and wash your hands often.
• Veramyst may stunt the growth of children when used extensively.

Veramyst Drug Interactions

•  Let your doctor know if you use Vaprisol, Gleevec, Isoniazid, Nefazodone, any antifungal medication, heart and blood pressure medication, or HIV/AIDS medicine.

Veramyst Treatment and Use

Veramyst | fluticasone is a corticosteroid prescribed as a nasal spray treatment for allergic rhinitis symptoms and perennial (year round) nonallergic rhinitis symptoms. These symptoms include stuffy or runny nose, itchiness, sneezing, and watery or itchy eyes.

How does Veramyst work?

Veramyst only regulates the symptoms of rhinitis and does not cure it. It reduces allergy symptoms by reducing inflammation of the nasal passage.

Veramyst Dosage Information

Every bottle is meant for 120 sprays. After using the spray 120 times, throw away the bottle, even if there is still liquid in the container.

Veramyst is sprayed once or twice daily in each nostril or as needed, based on doctor recommendation. Do not use more or less than prescribed. Initially a doctor may prescribe you a high dose, and reduce dosage as symptoms are regulated. Do not stop taking Veramyst without consulting your doctor.

Symptoms may not improve for up to 12 hours after initial use. The maximum benefit may not occur for several days.
